Every year at Christmas we celebrate at one of the local communities, we traveled with our staff this year to the community of Pacchanta. Pacchanta is a rural community located in the province of Quispicanchi in the Cusco region of Peru. It is known for its traditional Andean way of life, making a living with agriculture and livestock farming. The residents of Pacchanta are primarily indigenous Quechua people who live with their cultural traditions and customs.

Pacchanta is also a producer of textiles, which includes woven ponchos, blankets, and tapestries, which they sell in local markets. The community is involved in sustainable tourism, which help to preserve the environment, and work in tourism to support the local economy.
Gifts
SAM Travel Peru traveled to the community with hot chocolate and Pantone, a Peruvian Christmas cake which we shared with the children. The children received gifts of toys that they were very happy to receive. Later, we had a chance to sing Christmas songs and we shared stories with the children.
The joy to receive a gift on the faces of the children is why we continue to travel every year. Christmas is a time for giving and with the continued help of our wonderful passengers through the year, every Christmas, SAM Travel Peru will continue to travel to the highland communities.

These communities are high in the Andes, the children do not have the opportunities that the city children have. For this reason, we travel to a different community every year. Thanks to you all for allowing us to continue to give these children a Merry Christmas.
