As part of SAM Travel Peru social projects, the agency took the marvelous children from the SAN Martin School, special needs school, in Cusco on a magical mystery tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas located around an hour’s drive from Cusco.
At the School.
Before setting off to the Valley, the children put on a musical performance for the staff of SAM Travel, with dancing and singing. A great time was had by all and the children were happy.
Farm
Later all dressed in their best school uniforms, boarded the SAM Travel Peru bus and traveled to Manos de Communidad, a farm in the Sacred Valley, that keeps many different species of the camelid family. The four main species of Peru include the Llama, Alpaca, Guanacos and the Vicuna which is the National Animal of Peru. Inside the farm the children go to pet, feed and take pictures with all these wonderful animals. Many pictures were indeed taken.
Tour of the Ruins.
Traveling through the Valley the children visited Pisac ruin and were given an explanation of the ruins, by one of SAM Travels expert guides. Later, visiting the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo and were impressed with the history and size.
Lunch in the Valley.
Lunch was eaten in one of the restaurants and children enjoyed Pollo a la Braza. This dish is famous all-around Peru, succulent juicy chicken served with a whole lot of crispy fries. All was devoured and after lunch games were played and fun was had by all. Exhausted and happy the children arrived back into Cusco late in the afternoon, to share stories with their families of their day out.
